Dr. Rikesh T. Parikh, M.D. is a Double Board Certified Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon at Aesthetic Facial Body Plastic Surgery of Seattle | Bellevue. He focuses primarily on cosmetic surgery of the face, breast, and body. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American Board of Surgery. Both of these Boards are recognized by the Gold Standard American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS). In summary Dr. Parikh is highly skilled, his medical education consists of nine years of postgraduate training at major medical institutions around the country. He initially completed a five-year General Surgery residency at the State University of New York. This residency was followed by three years of specialized residency training in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. He also completed a one-year research fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio prior to residency training.

Dr. Parikh attended medical school at Kasturba Medical College in India where he graduated with distinction.
After medical school, Dr. Parikh completed a one-year research fellowship in Surgery at the prestigious Cleveland Clinic in Ohio. During this time, he published multiple articles and abstracts in peer-reviewed journals.
Upon completion of his research fellowship, Dr. Parikh was accepted at the State University of New York in Buffalo for General Surgery Residency training. Throughout his residency, he received multiple awards and accolades. Some of these include: the Theodore C. Jewitt M.D. Goldstar Resident of the Year, the Worthington B. Shenck Teacher of the Year Award, and the Arnold P. Gold Foundation Award for Humanism and Excellence. Dr. Parikh was also the first resident in the history of the Department of Surgery nominated for the American College of Surgeons Resident Exemplary Teaching Award. In addition to this, he consistently scored in the >90th percentile on the in-service examination (ABSITE). Due to his overall performance, he was chosen from ten Chief Residents to serve as the Administrative Chief Resident in his final year. He eventually was inducted into the Gold Honor Society and graduated as Best Overall Resident. Dr. Parikh is Board Certified by the American Board of Surgery and a member of the American College of Surgeons.
After General Surgery residency, he was selected for further training at Vanderbilt University. The Vanderbilt Training Program is one of the premier independent Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery training programs in the country - known for its extremely high volume of cases and patient complexity. During this three-year residency, Dr. Parikh trained with nationally and internationally known faculty focusing on the latest techniques in cosmetic as well as complex reconstructive procedures. Some highlights of his training include: Shalom Foundation mission pediatric plastic surgery in Guatemala, quality improvement in free flap monitoring for plastic surgery patients, and being the resident representative for plastic surgery in the Hospital Staff Advisory Committee. Dr. Parikh also served as Chief Resident in his final year of training and graduated with Distinction in Leadership Training from Vanderbilt University.
