A candidate for liposuction is someone with a mild to moderate amount of fat that has adequate skin tone or recoil. Focal areas of fat are excellent for liposuction. These areas may not be responsive to exercise and dieting. Skin that is stretched out or very loose may not respond well to liposuction techniques. Meaning, the fat will be removed but the skin will not adhere back or recoil the way you may want it too. This will result in hanging loose skin that may need to be excised or removed later. During your consultation Dr. Parikh will go over this concept in detail so that your needs and expectations are met.
